News Brief | March House General Manager Andy Attends China–Ethiopia Brand Partner Bootcamp and Engages in Strategic Industry Exchange

Against the backdrop of the continuous advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative and the rapid development of China–Africa economic and trade cooperation, brand globalization has become a key strategic direction for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas. Recently, the China–Ethiopia Brand Partner Bootcamp Private Board Meeting, jointly initiated by the Global Brand Partner Bootcamp program and related institutions, was successfully held in Beijing, featuring in-depth exchanges connected with the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in China.

Our General Manager Andy, representing March House, was invited to attend this high-level industry private board meeting. During the event, he engaged in extensive and practical discussions with representatives from Tsinghua alumni enterprises, leading Alibaba International Station merchants, and experts in cross-border brand development and industrial investment, focusing on the strategic shift from product export to brand globalization.
The event highlighted key opportunities in the Ethiopian and broader African markets. As a strategic hub in East Africa, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia—often referred to as the “Horn of Africa”—is increasingly becoming a gateway market for Chinese enterprises due to its large population base, youthful consumption structure, and its role as the headquarters of the African Union.

During the exchange sessions, Andy and participating industry leaders discussed several core topics under the framework of the Bootcamp initiative, including:
Building localized overseas operational systems for Chinese brands
Enhancing global supply chain integration and channel efficiency
Strengthening brand positioning and long-term market value creation
Exploring market entry strategies and risk management in Ethiopia and East Africa
Participants widely agreed that future international expansion requires Chinese enterprises to move beyond traditional export models and embrace a brand-driven globalization strategy, supported by localization, channel development, and long-term ecosystem building.
Notably, the event also introduced a “talent–market linkage mechanism” through engagement with Ethiopian students studying in China, providing valuable insights for future talent localization and cross-cultural business integration in overseas markets.
